Mihama-en is Japan’s only traditional garden that intentionally uses skyscrapers as its background imagery.
The garden was built together with Makuhari New City with the intent to maintain at least a little bit of traditional Japanese spirit within a very modern urban environment, and to provide an oasis to which residents and visitors can take respite from modern city life every now and then.
Only minutes walk from Makuhari’s hotels and convention facilities, Mihama-en is a good place to enjoy a morning or lunchtime stroll, or to take a break between meetings.
There is a tea house where visitors can sit and enjoy traditional Japanese matcha tea and sweets while gazing out at the garden.
Hours:
- May ~ August: 8:00am – 7:00pm
- September ~ April: 8:00am – 5:00pm
Admission:
- Adults: 100 yen / Children: 50 yen
- OR 500 yen includes tea and sweet (please indicate your interest and pay at the entrance so they have time to prepare)
As a Unique Venue
Depending on the season and the nature of the event, it may be possible to rent out the entire garden for receptions and like events.
The tea house can also be used as a venue to provide a full tea ceremony or a special cultural performance for small groups of VIP clients.
