Maihama Urban Resort

Funabashi Bay Side
Funabashi, which is adjacent to Makuhari, continues to develop as a satellite city for the capital Tokyo, especially with its new shopping and leisure facilities concentrated along the bay. Funabashi Lala Port is a large-scale shopping center with 360 specialty stores. Leisure spots such as Funabashi Kaihin Park and Yatsu Tideland Park are also nearby, so not only Funabashi citizens, but people from outside the prefecture also like to visit this lively district.
Seacom Cruise
This cruise connects Funabashi and Yokohama in approximately 100 minutes, traversing Tokyo Bay. While you take in the sea breeze, you can enjoy the magnificent Tokyo Bay area, a blend of nature, and the modern local architecture.
Sapporo Breweries, Chiba Plant (Funabashi City)
This plant is surrounded by the sea and greenery. Under the concept of "high quality, high efficiency and high amenity", this new facility utilizes an extensive computer network. In addition to explanations using all-weather astro-visions and facility observations, you can taste draft beer in the Marine Lounge with a beautiful view of the sea.
Chiba Port Park (Chiba City)
Chiba's gateway to the sea, Chiba Port, is well established in international trade, and has a beautiful seaside park. Chiba Port Tower, which is made of glass, is the symbol of Chiba City. There are also tennis courts, and a square where you can enjoy the seaport among greenery and sea breeze.
The Natural History Museum and Institute (Chiba City)
This museum introduces various aspects of nature and the history of Boso, the southern part of the prefecture. There are many exhibitions such as dramas, replicas, models, and skeletal specimens, which are fun to watch and easy to learn from. Outside the museum, there is an ecological park where you can observe live animals and plants in a natural environment.
Chiba Castle (Chiba City)
The castle of a Chiba lord who once governed this area has been restored in a corner of Inohana Park, a popular place in the spring during the cherry blossom season. The donjon houses the Chiba Museum of Local History. Pottery associated with Chiba city, helmets and armor, and daily tools from ancient to modern times are displayed. The 4th floor is a planetarium and the 5th floor is an observatory.
Chiba Prefectural Arts Museum (Chiba City)
The works of artists associated with Chiba Prefecture, such as Chu Asai and Ryuzaburo Umehara, pioneers of modern Japanese art, and Western paintings and works of Barbizon painters such as Kurube, Millet and Corot, are featured. Approximately 100 works of Japanese and Western painting, sculpture, artistic handicrafts, calligraphy, and woodblock painting are displayed on a regular basis.
Chiba Port Tour Sightseeing Cruise (Chiba City)
This sightseeing cruise from Chiba Port circles the Tokyo Bay area around Makuhari, taking in all the important landmarks at Chiba City. Passengers can also enjoy a panoramic view of Tokyo Bay. Beer and karaoke are available on board during July and August.
Kasori Shell Mound (Chiba City)
This is proudly one of the world's largest shell mounds from the Jomon period, and it is designated as a historic site. Displacement of the shell mound and a dugout revived at a habitation site can be seen. In the museum, many archaeological finds are also displayed.
Chiba Citizens' Fireworks Display (Chiba City)
Date: beginning of August
This is a large fireworks display held in Chiba Port Park facing Chiba Port. With the sea as a backdrop, wonderful fireworks contrasting against the beautiful night sky are a magnificent spectacle to see.
Yachiyo Family Festival (Yachiyo City)
Date: end of August
Various events are carried out including lantern offerings on water, fireworks, and bon festival dancing. These are traditional Japanese events held in memory of our ancestors and the deceased.
Chiba Three Generations Festival (Chiba City)
Date: middle of August
This is a festival of Chiba City, the capital of the prefecture. Various events such as parades, carrying of portable shrines, and concerts are held. At night, a group presents the "Three Generations Chiba Dance", during which the festival reaches a climax.
Kamezaki and Kuriyama Musical Accompaniment (Yotuskaido City)

Kuriyama Musical Accompaniment: end of October
Unique musical accompaniments to okame (moon-faced woman's mask) and hyottoko (disfigured male mask) dance with an abundant feeling to Japanese flutes and drums have been handed down from the Edo era. This is introduced at the shrine's festival in October each year.
