Runners carry their own food and water on their back while running on the sandy beaches of the Kujukuri Beach.

  The beach is a 66km stretch of straight coastline famous for surfing, and the 2nd longest beach in Japan. There are 3 courses (40 kilometers, 20 kilometers, and 10 kilometers). While running on the sand presents a formidable challenge, the runners can enjoy the beautiful Pacific Ocean and not have to deal with traffic and exhaust fumes from cars.
