Sequence of Encounter:
Every year, Chiba Convention Bureau participates in IMEX America, a destination tradeshow held in Las Vegas as part of the overseas promotional activities for Chiba. In October 2014, CCB had the opportunity to speak with the president of the International Monorail Association (IMA) and learned about the Monorailex. Together with the Chiba Urban Monorail and Nihon University College of Industrial Technology, the CCB continued to promote Chiba to IMA as the venue for their future conference.

When the IMA chairman visited Chiba in December 2019, CCB had attended him and showed the convenience of the Narita International Airport, traditional Japanese town, Sawara and Makuhari which is the venue of the 6th Mass-Trans Innovation Japan, hotel facilities, etc.

Also during the site inspection, the chairman visited the depot of Chiba Urban Monorail where he was told about the company's technology and initiatives. He also spoke with the professors of Nihon University’s Railway Engineering Research Center who have shared knowledge about the possibility of Japan’s mass transit system. Chiba have successfully showed its intention of hosting the meeting that lead to the realization of winning the bid.
