PGA Tour to First Debut in Japan

The ZOZO, Inc. which operates one of the largest online fashion retail shops in Japan and the PGA Tour, organizer of professional golf tours had announced a six-year agreement that establishes the first annual, official PGA Tour schedule in Japan, the ZOZO Championship. Co-sanctioned by the Japan Gold Tour Organization (JGTO), the tour was set to debut in October, 2019 during the opening segment of the 2019-20 PGA Tour FedExcCup Season to be held at Accordia Golf Narashino Country Club in Chiba, just outside of Tokyo. ZOZO Championship is said to feature a $9.75 million purse.

Yusaku Maezawa, owner of ZOZO, Inc., the first private individual who booked to join a lunar trip expressed his gratefulness to sponsor a historical and prestigious tournament very first in Japan, and to be able to hold the tournament in his very own home town.
