Enough of the rainy season. Here comes the hottest season in Japan, Summer! Warm season mostly lasts 3 months from mid-June to mid-September, where August the hottest. During this season, there are countless activities to engage in, such as going to the beach, doing hiking or camping, watching the display of fireworks, dancing at bon festivals, or helping carry a mikoshi (portable shrine) and parade through the town.
Since more than two-thirds of Chiba is surrounded by the ocean, people from Tokyo and other nearby prefectures come to its beaches during the season to play under the sun. But not just the ocean, many hikers too come to explore its bountiful nature. In addition to many nature-related activities, there are also plenty of seasonal highlights in Chiba such as iconic festivities like the Grand Summer Festival Sawara, Narita Gion Festival, Summer Sonic, Makuhari Beach Fireworks Festival, and more. Although gathering restrictions are still in place, many big events are back after being canceled in the last few years due to the pandemic.

Chiba’s International Convention Cities
Did you know that Chiba is the only prefecture in Japan that has four cities designated as International Meeting Tourism Cities? These cities are Chiba City, Narita City, Kisarazu City, and Urayasu City. They are recognized as providing an attractive structure for international conferences being equipped with facilities and accommodations suitable for various international conferences, and having attractive sightseeing resources within and in their surrounding areas. The Japan Geoscience Union Meeting 2022 was held hybrid at Makuhari Messe
The Japan Geoscience Union Meeting 2022 was held hybrid at Makuhari Messe from May 22 to 27, and an online poster session from May 29 to June 3. The meeting was participated by a total of about 7,000 people, with about 400 online participants from overseas. This is the first hybrid meeting after going online for 2 consecutive years due to the pandemic.
The 22nd All Japan Blueberry Producer Symposium
2022 Blueberry in Kisarazu was held in Chiba
The 22nd All Japan Blueberry Producer Symposium, 2022 Blueberry in Kisarazu, was held on July 1 and 2 at Kazusa Arc in Kisarazu City, Chiba Prefecture. The Symposium, which aimed to bring together producers of blueberries in Japan and discuss its production development, was co-sponsored by the Japan Blueberry Association and the Kisarazu Blueberry Executive Committee. It is also part of the 80th foundation celebration of Kisarazu City. The first day of the symposium, showcased lectures, panel discussions, and networking. And on the 2nd day, the participants visited various blueberry farms in the area as part of the excursion program activity.

Business events, as we know, primarily mean any activity that involves analytical engagement, research and information sharing, networking, and other commercial activities. It is one significant way of connecting people, organizations, and business sectors globally while attaining economic growth.
Located in Chiba City, approximately 40 minutes by car from Narita International Airport is the Tipstar Dome Chiba. A world-class cycling track tournament facility that opened last year in October, 2021. The 9,600㎡ velodrome has a seating capacity of about 2,000 people. The bicycle track that is situated at its epicenter is about 250 meters long. Other facilities include a VIP room, a bar, and a restaurant.
Will you attend or plan a convention or any other business events at Makuhari? Busy days at a convention can be stressful, and you may need a break to relax and take a deep breath, not far from the meeting venue. Even though there are many activities available within walking distance of the complex precinct, such as parks, a Japanese garden, a baseball stadium, etc., you can also utilize the rental cycles available to get to your desired destination.
Approximately 90 minutes from Tokyo Station, Sunrise Kujukuri is located on the stretch of Kujukuri Beach on the northeast coast of Bōsō Peninsula in Chiba. Kujukuri Beach is the 2nd longest beach in Japan, with a length of approximately 60 kilometers, and is a popular swimming and surfing destination for residents of Greater Tokyo and nearby prefectures.
