IFBLS2026 Courtesy visit to the prefectural governor and city mayor

In September 2026, Makuhari Messe will host the International Federation of Medical Laboratory Sciences (IFBLS2026), an international conference focused on clinical testing, along with the 75th Japanese Society of Medical Technology. This will be the first time in 10 years that these conferences will be held in Japan, which will bring together many experts from here and from abroad.

With just one year to go until the conference, four directors, including Representative Director Tsunehiro Yokochi of the Japanese Association of Medical Technologists, paid a courtesy visit to the governor of Chiba Prefecture, Mr. Toshihito Kumagai, and to the mayor of Chiba City, Mr. Shunichi Kamiya, to express their gratitude for the support they have received, as well as to report on the current situation. Future cooperation was also expressed during the meeting.

The IFBLS is an international academic forum aimed at supporting the education of clinical laboratory technologists and technological innovation. The forum is held once every two years in various locations around the world. This time, it is expected to attract approximately 5,000 participants, both international and domestic, and is expected to have a ripple effect on the local economy while bringing an opportunity for innovation in various industries in the prefecture.

Chiba Convention Bureau would also like to take advantage of this opportunity to bring together clinical testing experts from around the world to invigorate the region with an all-Chiba team.
