JCCB@30th MICE professionals from all over Japan gathered in Chiba
The Japan Congress and Convention Bureau (JCCB) 30th anniversary celebrations were held in Chiba Prefecture from July 29 to July 30, 2025.
The ceremony was held on the first day at Makuhari Messe, Tuesday, the 29th of July. The event brought together approximately 200 people from the MICE industry, including convention bureaus, convention planning and management companies, travel agencies, hotels, event venue facilities, and exhibition centers. The event includes networking, an idea pitch contest, and keynote speeches.
The idea pitch contest featured innovative proposals under the theme "Designing the MICE of the Future!" and was participated in by young members believed to be the future of the MICE industry. The keynote speech that tackled the importance of holding sustainable MICE events under the theme "Sustainable MICE Strategies that Connect the Next Generation, Local Communities, and the World." Was delivered by Mrs. Kyoko Gendatsu of the NHK Enterprises. In her speech, Mrs. Gendatsu emphasized that ‘sustainability’ should not be something in the back of your mind but should be at the heart of every meeting/convention.
The celebration included the presentation of the Achievement Award, speeches by distinguished guests, the proposal of a toast, networking, and commemorative photographs. To represent the host prefecture, the Chiba Vice Governor Mr. Yoshiyuki Kurono and the Chiba City Mayor Shunichi Kamiya were present to deliver privilege speeches, concluding the celebration’s great success.
On the second day, Wednesday, the 30th of July, the participants visited a MICE facility, the Porsche Experience Center Tokyo located in Kisarazu City in Chiba, for a site-inspection visit. The facility tour was initiated following the introduction of the many past events that were held here, along with the future ways of utilizing the facility for MICE. Participants showed particular interest in its use as a suitable venue for tours such as incentive groups.
As the host venue, Chiba expresses gratitude to everyone involved in the 30th anniversary celebration of the JCCB for bringing this successful event to the prefecture.
