The 11th World Mathematics Invitational (WMI) World Final round, an international mathematics competition for students from kindergarten through high school founded in Taiwan, concluded successfully in Chiba Prefecture in July. The event marked the second time the World Final has been held in Japan, following the 2019 tournament in Fukuoka.

The final round took place on July 11 at the Chiba University Campus, bringing together approximately 1,146 outstanding student competitors who qualified through preliminary rounds held around the world. The Award Ceremony was held on July 13 at the Chiba Prefectural Cultural Hall, celebrating the achievements of young mathematicians from 26 countries and regions.

Including competitors, coaches, guardians, and accompanying family members, the event welcomed approximately 2,273 participants to Chiba Prefecture. During their stay, many international visitors also explored local attractions, providing a valuable opportunity to experience Chiba's culture, hospitality, and tourism offerings.

The Chiba Convention Bureau supported the successful staging of the event by coordinating venues and providing assistance as part of its efforts to attract international MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) events to the prefecture.

The successful hosting of the WMI World Final further strengthened Chiba's position as a destination for international educational events while promoting global academic exchange and friendship among young people. The Bureau looks forward to continuing to attract world-class international events that contribute to regional vitality and enhance Chiba's global profile.
